AMV Contest:

The Anime Milwaukee AMV Contest returns for its third year! We've gotten a good response in the past, but as always we are looking to make things even better. The rules are pretty much the same as they have been for the past two years, but there are some small changes in rule 7

The Deadline for online submissions is 11:59pm cst (gmt-6) on February 12, 2010. Submissions received after this date will be disqualified. Submissions recieved by mail should be postmarked no later than February 10, 2009.

AMV Contest submission for this year is now closed. Thanks to everyone who submitted a video (or videos)

Judging:

The judging process is simple enough, each judge will "grade" each amv and the amv with the highest average score will win best of show. The amv with the highest average in each category will win the "best amv" for that category. scoring for each section is based on a 10 point scale (0 being bad, 10 being good) here are the scoring sections along with brief explanations:

Sync: How well do the various elements of your video line up with elements of your song?

Technical Merit: The harder your AMV looks like it was to make, the better.

Entertainment: If the video was engaging it will score high here. AMV's that aren't entertaining usually have you thinking, "is it done yet?" during the video

Flow: An AMV with good flow makes you feel like the scenes fit together, almost like it was taken right from the source.

Effort: If you work really hard on a project, even if it isn't the best, people can usually tell that you put a lot of effort into it...same thing applies here.
