any homestucks planning on attending AMKE this year??

i'll be going as gamzee for sure, perhaps sober gamzee as well, and probably god tier john. also alpha bro if i feel up to it.
i belong to a small crew, so hopefully a lot of them are coming. if i come i know my sister will come. she cosplays as terezi and dave, and eventually alpha mom.

a meetup is bound to occur regardless of if we plan one. we homestucks tend to flock together.

i also want to add that i'm interested in organizing a homestuck skit for the future, but i was thinking a bigger con like ACen would be more ideal. but if you're interesting and you want to throw around ideas here, please feel free!

I'd use paper mache. Let it dry. Then spray paint it whatever color you like.

Ok i know this may sound odd but does anyone know where i can buy a used/cheap wheelchair? I'm cosplaying as Tavros and i wanna be wheelchair Tavvy but i don't know where to find a wheelchair D:

Hey Homestucks! I'm gonna be cosplaying the Handmaid basically all weekend, unless I get sick of applying all the makeup and just do Dave or Hella Jeff one day. Any other ancestors? Or Doc Scratch/Lord English?

A few suggestions for the horns: you could try paper mache like Starlit suggested, or go with a few other options. Model Magic over a wire hanger base works really well for Gamzee, and foam cylinders, either a solid pool noodle type deal or something you buy at the craft store, should work for Tavros. There are a whole lot of other options too, just try surfing sites like the MSPA forums and deviantArt for some ideas. The way I see it, you have to have your own horn-making method, and just have to try a lot of different things. I've gone through several sets of Aradia horns before I settled on a lightweight Model Magic pair.

thanks for the tips on the horns i'll try those out soon! Does anyone know a cheap grey body paint for troll skin? I was going to buy a bottle of ben nye skin paint and my Gamzee was going to buy another bottle. But we'd really like to find a cheaper alternative that would still look good.

Ben Nye is really the best when it comes to appearance and being comfortable, but if you need a cheap alternative just try ordering some white/black cream makeup, the kind you use for face painting and Halloween costumes. A lot of people don't like using it because a.) it can look really streaky, b.) gets hella hot if you wear it all day, even with minimal clothes, and c.) wears off when you sweat/get wet/touch things. Also if you have bad skin it might make you break out.

Just mix the two together and apply it with your fingers or with makeup sponges, but make sure it's mixed really well and you get an even, thin coat. If you need to cover the hands or legs I'd suggest using gloves and tights (that is, if you're using cheap makeup).

If you want to take it a step further just get some eyeshadow/bronzer/blush in whatever color your Troll's blood is and apply it to the cheekbones as you would with ordinary blush, and use a darker shade along the hollows of the cheeks, the bottom of the nose, and under the chin to add some dimension to your face and not look like you're just splattered with gray paint. It takes a bit of practice but a 3 dimensional looking face is definitely going to look better than flat gray, no matter what type of makeup you're using.

Hmm. .thanks for the tips again! But i think we might just end up forking over sixteen each for the two bottles of Ben Nye *shrug*. I really liked the tip for the eyeshadow though i'd actually been looking for a way to incorporate the trolls blood color into their skin color so that was really helpful! ^^
