First, would be the distance between the Hyatt Regency and Frontier Airline Center, The sky walk added a great deal of stress on people's legs. That being said I do understand the space and noise concerns at the Hyatt, not to mention that you may not have been able to reserve exactly the spaces you had wanted.
Secondly, I was rocking a Gothic Lolita dress and had NO means of storage other than to put my wallet in the elastic part of my costume, so the no bag rule in the store was kinda of a pain, although once again I understand the reasoning as far as preventing theft, but our female con-goers would probably want to carry more than just a wallet on them, I never knew what trouble women went through with dresses until I experienced it for myself this weekend lol. Maybe you could consider allowing them, at least small purses.
Lastly, this isn't even my complaint so much as it was Robert Axelrod's but he was scheduled EARLY on Saturday after the rave to top it off and he had apparently asked otherwise. Lord Zedd, as awesome as he is,also is just like the rest of us, he is not growing any younger, the difference being he has seen a few more decades than most of us, As a fan I felt the need to say something.
Otherwise, I had an absolute blast! Not only did I have fun I think it has changed me a little bit for the better. This was my first con but certainly won't be my last one, If my resources allow it won't be my last Anime Milwaukee either!! Thanks for a great time guys!!! Now if you'll excuse me, I must recover from the con and the 2 long drives this week. I JUST showed up back home in Little Rock after a 13 hour drive which also involved getting lost in downtown Chicago.
Speaking as a professional floater for the weekend, I walked that skywalk maaany times. It does get tiring after a while but it's not as bad of a walk as ACen's skywalk experience lol that being said, it's necessary since our convention is too big for just the Hyatt. We'll be looking at ways to optimize traffic, though.
The bag rule seems to need some discussion. We have the coat check for free so people can drop off their belongings. Coat check was also a satellite office for our volunteer coordinators. Either we need to look into improving the trust of the coat check or discuss alternatives to the bag rule. This might not change, though, just because of the need for security in the vendor room, game room, and Rave. Rest assured, no matter what the outcome, we will have a dialogue about this rule.
The panel slot might have been a miscommunication beforehand. It happens unfortunately but thank you for bringing that to our attention. We like to make sure our attendees and guests are happy. I'll let panel programming know about it.
I'm glad you had fun and thanks for making us your first con! We hope you can come back next year (if your resources are limited next year, you can always join staff! *shameless plug*).
