"You're making me uncomfortable. Can I be left alone?" you don't owe anybody anything, especially in a crowd of 4,000. Ignoring them or faking a laugh or humoring them in whatever timid way you feel like just enables that kind of behavior.

I got a remark from a woman inside an elevator who wouldn't let me on because she didn't want anymore of "you people" on the elevator.

Now, I cosplayed as the 2nd Doctor. I may or may not have been...uh....completely sober at the time, and assured her that it was okay because I wasn't a human. I got on anyways and she started to complain about something or other about weirdos and such. I then proceeded to go into a "You human beings are all the same yet you treat each other so differently!" rant. I ended by pulling out the recorder and strolling out the elevator door.

I'm pretty sure Seton Hall had a great time.

Problem is, I did say at one point to someone, "sorry, I wanna hang out by myself right now, and I'm meeting someone later."

DID NOT WORK.

@ProfessorPher, holy crap. Who did that woman think she was? Was she hotel staff? She had no right to bar people from the elevator because she's a special snowflake.

I think she was a Seton Hall parent. Or something. Either way I hope I left a last impression.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is Seton Hall?

Are you referring to the parents who were there with all the little girls, doing some sort of event at the Frontier Airlines Center? Holy GOD, some of those people were rude. One of the older girls walked into the bathroom at one point with her mother (I was directly behind them), and a cosplayer (in a rather tame costume) walked past and the girl made this retching noise and her mother said, "just ignore it." If MY daughter did that, I'd smack her into next week. Thank God I'm not having kids. At another point a husband and wife stopped in their tracks, staring at me open-mouthed, and the woman just shook her head.

Seton Hall is the university basketball team that played Marquette Friday night.

Most of the players didn't seem to mind. For some reason it's the older folks that got offended. Not sure why though.

It's all in the delivery. Drop the "can" and say in a firm voice "Leave me alone." or a variation that as a staff member I can't type. If that doesn't work next year, go to a friendly staff member who will help you.

Hey, any word yet on the official number of attendees? I heard it was over the estimated 4,000 or so, and I'm curious!
