Handheld Gaming

I noticed that the latest PAX had a Handheld Lounge, for multiplayer handheld games. Is AMKE thinking about doing something similar? This would be a good target location for meetups involving multiplayer games like Pokemon or DragonQuest.

I think that was being discussed, I mean, talk about an easy thing to do, right? Any particular details you would like included? Maybe some tournaments could be organized. Heck, if I knew anyone else would be there with a Neo Geo Pocket color (and a link cable) I would totally play me a few rounds of King of Fighters or something!

I'm most familiar with DragonQuest IX on the DS. I remember when Nintendo did some promo events for it at Best Buys and GameStops, gamers who showed up to the events could actually get bonus dungeon maps through the game's tag mode (and I got a couple promo tshirts). Getting rare or exclusive content to distribute this way might be a good way to get people to AMKE who might not otherwise make it there.

Pokemon might well have something similar, and I wouldn't be surprised if other games have similar capabilities, as well.
