What do I expect?

What do I expect?

Postby KnateXCore » Thu Dec 29, 2011 8:17 pm

I've never been to a con before. This will be my first. I always told myself if I ever attended a con that I would cosplay, which I plan on doing (Asuming Milanoo would hurry up and ship it). I just don't know what to expect. For example once I am there: What do I do, Where do I go, What is there to do, What does everyone else do, Where are the Cosplayers, Where is the rave, When is the rave, Is it all at the hotel? The only thing I DO know is that I will be taking lots and lots of pictures of random people. The main questions I'd like to know is: What DO I do when I get there? Where is the the rave at exactly? And are their parties afterwards? I mean.. I got a million questions because I don't know what to expect. I'm driving 5 hours to lose my Con-V-Card to AMKE and I just don't want to go there blind and not enjoy myself. Soooo.... any advice? tips? comments? >.>

You sir, are full of questions.

Well, cosplayers will be EVERYWHERE. There will be specific series meetups at a designated place for photo ops if there are certain characters you definitely want to see. Be sure to check the con book for all that info. Also, the best costumes will likely be around on Saturday for the masquerade....

Most people tend to congregate in and around the exhibit hall, video game room and such, I recommend checking out a panel or two - lots of fun. We'll have a schedule of everything also in the con book - with rave info too! We're planning on having several DJ's this year... Also, there will be tabletop games - try something new, meet new people! We're also planning game tournaments and Pokemon events. We will have a maid cafe at the top of the hotel, with tea, snacks and loads of adorable maids to cater to you! Or you can check out the viewing rooms for new releases and see an episode or two!

And, there will also be parties - we're planning on having a party board for people to post flyers - we had that last year too.

So, bring a camera, bring some moolah, get a room (or crash at a friends'), make sure to eat and sleep - and have fun! Whew, that's about everything - OR IS IT???!!!11!!!! lololololololol

Hey speaking of the maid cafe will you have a section the website will you have a menu on what kind of stuff you'll have. :3 Or any new stuff too.

I loved your strawberry shortcake and parfait when I came to the cafe on the ifrst day of the con last year.

Also I wonder if I could take one picture up in the revolving restaurant of the lake view-I'll be dressed as a team rocket grunt. I remember last year I was amazed at how cool the view was from way up there.

We've updated our menu, and it's changed from what you remember last year. You'll find our menu posted on our own website: http://www.wix.com/amkemaidcafe/revedetoilecafe

Thank you! We worked VERY hard, and your feedback is so much appreciated! Unfortunately this year we will not have strawberry cake, but we do plan to bring back the parfaits, if a trifle simplified.

Yes, you may take as many pictures of the view as you please! Our only rule with photos is that if you want to take a photo of or with a maid or butler you must first get their permission. :)

Thank you for all your questions! If anyone else has questions, I do know there is a maid cafe thread in programming... I think.

Don't forget to come to the video game room! :) We'l be in room 101 in the Frontier Airline Center, in a massive 5,000+ square foot room filled with tons of video games and arcade machines. The machines being brought to the convention are posted on the website, in addition to tournament games and other information. We will have tons of games, including retro titles and modern stuff.
