Anime Milwaukee Maid Cafe

Hey, this is the Anime Milwaukee Staff and we need your help. I'm starting work on the Maid Cafe for next year and I wanted to know what everyone thought about it. What did you like about it? What didn't you like about? Is there anything new you would like to see implemented next year? Let me know. The sooner we get ideas, the sooner we can start making it even better. Thanks for your help and I hope to see you all next year.

Unfortunately I did not get to go up there, but I heard lots of people talking. Mostly everyone wanted MOAR, varieties of teas, snacks, etc. I suppose having different varieties of tea is an easy (and cheap) thing to do. Maybe some scones? There also seemed to be a lot of people expecting FOOD, when it was clearly advertised as tea. Maybe more advertising? I dunno.

Everyone loved the view and the atmosphere - good stuff!

My friends and I went upto the Maid Cafe and didn't even get anything :( Our waitor came once and we never saw him again, but in his defense we did leave without trying to find him because I had to find my dad who just got off a plane from Germany to come to the con.(But we did wait a good 20 min or so and he never came back D;) The food choices did look yummy, but I too would suggust more types of tea and little snaks/drinks. :) It looked super cute thought!

I myself loooooved the cafe. X3 My brother and I tried every menu item and they were absolutely to die for. Definitely keep up with your recipes! And although it only happened once, it was mega cute when our first maid made "a magic spell to make the food yummy".
I do think it would be nice if there were a few more things, not much even, but only 3 food items was a small selection. With more I honestly would have spent a lot more time up there. XD It's a suggestion, so if you don't feel like it no prob, but I would love to (and was hoping last time to) see chocolate cornets on the menu, Image like in Lucky Star, especially since I've never seen them outside of this one Japanese shop I know in Chicago. :3

There is also this page of recipes I think might be appropriate for the cafe if you'd like to see http://egl-cooking.livejournal.com/ .

As the head of the Maid Cafe this year and assistant to last year's head, I personally thank you! Your compliments are greatly appreciated! It makes me so happy to know that you enjoyed yourself in the cafe!

While I do agree, I'm afraid at this point it's impossible to increase the amount of food items on our menu, both because of budget concerns, time concerns, and simply because we must follow rules preset by the hotel. However, this year we'll be adding one or two new snackie things to the menu! We hope you'll come back and enjoy them with us!

I remember that episode! The first time I saw a Maid Cafe was actually in Lucky Star. I remember being a little puzzled... and now I'm running one! Aheh... funny where life takes us. As for the chocolate cornets, it's a lovely suggestion and they really do look tasty. However, we're not allowed to cook or bake in the kitchen we use, so I'm afraid we cannot make the cornets ourselves. They look like they'd take up too much time and would be hard to transport, so at least for this year I don't think we can pre-bake them (not unless I had lots of people doing it for me~~~ Wouldn't that be nice? ;P). But I will look into seeing if perhaps a food service can provide them for us. Of course, this depends also upon our budget. Thank you very much for the suggestion, however. ^-^~

Thanks for the link! I will take a looksie~ I already saw they had a recipe for Strawberry Shortcake up there, which I know we have in our menu currently~ Once again, Cutiefox, thank you for everything! Hope to see you back in the Cafe next year~~

Sincerely,

The maid cafe area & costumes were great! As a staff member, I'd like to be a maid for AMKE '12. Are the maid butler outfits from AMKE '11 going to be used for the Maid Cafe in AMKE '12? (BTW, I have a maid outfit.) When I was at AMKE '11, I didn't eat at the cafe because I didn't have a sweet tooth; I wanted a sandwich or something for lunch. I understand that the menu must remain small, but I agree with a previous post which says that there should be more teas available. Also, I think Ramen noodles should be offered. It's cheap, quick, & easy. :P
